Imbolc 2024 Southern Hemisphere 2024. Imbolc, also known as st brigid’s day or candlemas, is celebrated traditionally in the southern hemisphere on august 1 st, and on february 1 st in the northern hemisphere. A lesser known pagan holiday, imbolc falls exactly halfway between the winter solstice (yule) and the spring equinox (ostara).
